We aim to provide and support knowledge and education that encourages children’s physical, social,
emotional, intellectual and creative development through a wide range of activities suitable for their age

St Mary’s Pre-school Playgroup aims to work with parents to provide good quality care and education for
all children.

We aim to provide planned activities in accordance the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The Pre-school caters for all children including those who are entitled to funding as well as those who
are not and they will all be treated as individuals.
Our aim is to encourage children to be confident and full of self-esteem, through praise, and able to
provide intellectual and independent skills through activities and Knowledge.
St Mary’s pre-school aim’s to encourage staff through education and appraisal to develop their individual
child care knowledge, and increase a good partnership between home and pre-school.
Our aim is to provide staff, that are happy, enthusiastic and motivated within their roles.
St Mary’s Pre-School is committed to operating within the standards and Guidelines of both the Children’s
Act 1989, and the requirements set by OFSTED as governed by the National Standards for Sessional Care.
We aim to encourage children to be aware of other’s needs and be able to show respect for other
cultures, feelings and belongings.
Our objective is to provide the means for children to be confident enough to move on to new settings and
situations.
